It was a summer night when a few curious beings met around the forest clearing. Through the language of chant they started forming their bonds. Now they are ready for you.

Chantlings is a singing app for the iPhone and iPad. It was made for anyone brave enough to explore the colors and shapes of their voice through singing with various characters.

Harmonious

You control the Chantlings purely through singing. They pick up on the tonality of what you sing and improvise harmonies to compliment your melodies.

Lyrical

Not only will they pick up on your musical guidance but also the words you pronounce and the rhythm of your voice. Each chantling has its own distinctive voice, experiment with different combinations.

Connected

You will experience the tightest bond with the Chantlings using a wired set of headphones but you can also use wireless headphones, Bluetooth speakers or even Airplay to your AppleTV.

Chantlings is a collaboration with Heart of Noise

‍We set out to design a music app that can be operated without touch. It brought us down a rabbit hole of acoustic analysis, musical counterpoint, vocal synthesis and reactive character animation. Finally we have arrived at this lovely nook at the bottom of the hole.
